On Friday, September 14, at the Baltazar restaurant in Zagreb, Vinolog presented a selection of champagnes produced by Charles Collin from France. Vinolog is a company established in 2010. Led by knowledge, desire and enthusiasm towards wines, it has grown in eight years into one of the leading wine traders and producers in Croatia.
It proudly offers to connoisseurs its own wine brands Eclat and Lectus, as well as brands from a number of prestigious Croatian and international wine producers, such as Mladen Papak, Vina Rota and Veralda, and the wines produced by world-famous Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli, whose wines it represents and distributes on the markets of Croatia and neighbouring countries.
During the presentation, well-known Croatian sommeliers and wine experts had an opportunity to taste for the first time in Croatia six champagnes made by Charles Collin, which comes from the Côte des Bar region and was founded more than 60 years ago. The initial founders were several independent vineyard owners, but nowadays the company gathers over 140 vineyards and covers about 330 hectares of vineyards protected by geographical appellation, producing about three million bottles a year – making it one of the largest producers in the region.
The host of the promotion was sales director Mamadou Gueye, who masterfully led the tasting session and presented the whole range. In a pleasant and friendly atmosphere, the guests tasted Charles Collin brut, Charles Collin Blanc de Noirs, Charles Collin Rosé Brut, Charles Collin Demi Sec, Cuvée Charles and, finally, Charles Collin Blanc de Blanc 2008, which delighted absolutely everybody.
By introducing Charles Colin champagnes in its portfolio, Vinolog continues with bringing constant and pleasant surprises to the Croatian wine scene. Wine connoisseurs in Croatia, and those who are yet to become ones, definitely have reasons to be more than satisfied.
